It starts early.
You can hear the spurs in motion around 4 a.m. in a quiet barn, just the sound of leather shifting and horses stirring in the dark.
It’s the kind of morning that starts before the sun ever thinks about rising.
Once horses are saddled and before the day really gets going, there’s one stop you don’t skip: breakfast at the Big House.
Bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, all the fixin’s… exactly what you need before a long day of branding.
Then it’s time to load up and head out.

It's big country.
Bigger than most can imagine. We call it pasture, but to most it would feel like open range that never ends.
Whoever’s country you’re riding is the one who gives the plan and leads it out. Then it’s time to move out.
At the start of a gather is the jigg line.
Each cowboy rides in line, stretched out across the country. The rider up front sets the line, dropping cowboys off as they make their way around the pasture.
A holler runs down the line.
Then everyone moves forward, gathering cattle.
No rush. No chaos. Just steady work.
The horses are everything.
The terrain is rough. Uneven. Every step. Good horses truly make the difference.
By 8 or 9 AM, cattle are in the pens.
Now it’s time for the fun part.
A face full of dust and grit. Everyone knows their job. Like an old song and dance, branding begins.
Lunch is back at the Big House.
If you can’t tell, we eat good around here.
Hamburger steak with all the fixins… and yes, thank you Four Sixes Beef.
Then it’s back in the saddle.
Some would think that’s enough for the day. But not here.
It’s straight to the roping pen because no hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle.
It’s long days. Rough country. Real work.
Gritty horses that have to stay sound and stay willing.
That kind of work doesn’t come from shortcuts.
It comes from keeping tradition alive. It comes from our foundation.
Because whether it’s a branding pen or a show pen…
It’s the same thing that matters - how you do the little things day-in and day out.
